Limestone kneeling statue of Ramesses II offering to Osiris. XIX Dynasty. From Abydos. Great North Museum (formerly Hancock Museum), Newcastle, on a long term loan from the British Museum. Ramesses II presents an offering table and a hes vase to the god Osiris (named in the inscription). A short inscription on two columns and a line, incised on the body of the vase says : The Lord of the Crowns : Ramesses-meryamun ; Lord of the Two Lands : Usermaatre-setepenre, beloved by Osiris .
