Linemen/Linewomen VistaCare - Antigonish, NS VistaCare Communications is a leading technology solutions provider based out of Halifax Nova Scotia. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated OSP Linemen/women to join our Canada wide operation with projects located across the country. OSP Linemen/women are involved in all facets of outside plant construction including Fibre Optics, Copper and RF Coax. Aerial and underground experience is required and survey experience is an asset. These positions require travel throughout Canada. Travel is paid for. Specifics: Vacancies: 15 open positions Start Date: flexible, depending on various contract start dates Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience Credentials: Not required, but would be considered an asset Experience: 2+ years of related work experience minimum Other Benefits: Comprehensive Group Benefits (health, dental, vision, insurance) Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) Employer-match RRSP Group Plan Requirements: •Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination •Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation •Ability to work in a physically demanding atmosphere that includes, but is not limited to: carry, raise and climb a ladder, carry, lift and handle heavy equipment (manhole covers, cable reels) •Self-disciplined, motivated and organized •Valid driver’s license •Willingness to travel Duties and Responsibilities •Operate vehicle-mounted aerial device equipment •Operate cable lashing machines •Load and unload equipment and cable trailers •Must be willing and able to climb non-stepped utility poles as required •Safe usage of extension ladders up to 32’ •Reading blueprints and plans •Experience with Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coax, copper and fibre cables •Perform testing and troubleshooting if required •Adheres to all company safety policy and procedures Skills and Experience •Must be willing to travel on rotating schedule •Be able to work in confined space and at heights •Must have valid Driver’s License – heavy duty classification and/or airbrakes may be a requirement of the position depending on the vehicle classification •Driver history (abstract) must meet the criteria of our insurance company •Be able to pass provincial and federal security clearances •Be willing to work overtime, weekends, or emergency call outs as required •Familiarity with tools, equipment and techniques of the trade Apply by faxing your resume to 902-444-7405
