Linga- At the outset i would say that the film has no class... a super star movie being made in six months with multi-star cast and grandeur Dam Sets and many rich rural scenes coupled with train scenes, train fight , baloon climax with all such things is not an ordinary task.. K S Ravikumar is a real task master.... story is nothing big or great to talk about... screen play in the first 30 minutes makes one feel is this how super star going to end his career or what? but as Rajni enters Solaiyur village and K Vishwanath unfolds the history and past the film brings u to some interesting moments as it moves through until the climax...the scene where Rajni is sent away and the villages learn the truth and goes to his place to meet him and have food is an emotional moment nicely done by all actors... songs make us wonder is this A R Rahman and is this his quality? Anushka did one film with Rajni is her achievement and nothing more....Sonakshi does better than Anushka and has some scope to perform.. Santhanam is the saviour in some scenes.... the photography in dam related scenes is worth mentioning.... grandeur has been shot well by Ratnavel....if Central Govt. gave Bharath award to MGR in Rickshakaran those days, i would not be surprised if Rajni gets that in the present regime through his friend at the top as subject is a public welfare subject ........Rajni has grown old and even make-up and hair style could not stop that... at the end, it is certainly a one time watch in theatres as Rajnikanth is Rajnikanth.. without him no one would care this... but with him, he brings some entertainment value...
