Lingaa : No doubt Lingaa is the most awaited movie of the year since the day of its Launch. It’s more than 4 years since we have seen him on silver screen You must have heard mixed response about this movie. Below is the version from a true hardcore Rajini fan: so it is likely to be seen as biased and true to that, I’ll touch more on the positives and try my best to highlight what didn’t go well. About Lingaa: It is Thalaivar all the way. His sheer magic presence is more than enough for the fans like me to enjoy the movie! This movie is completely different from earlier Rajini movies. Rather it had lot of scope for Thalaivar to perform as an artist. Very strong story line, but slow paced. But nevertheless, Grandfather Rajini, who played the role of Raja Lingeswaran, pulled it off with great ease. His impeccable dialogue delivery, style, energy, acting cannot be matched and performed by anyone else. Younger Rajini tried his best to romance around with Anushuka, joined hands with Santhanam for comedy and delivered interesting scenes (particularly in pawn shop) Cinematography: Nice work from Rathnavelu Other cast: Huge star cast, but only few stands out – Sonakshi did well her in acting, Anushuka takes care of Glamour part. Music: You need to hear multiple times before you go and watch the movie to hear/watch the impact. Else you are likely to get the bored up with the songs. Decent work from ARR (but not his best). Action: Train fight stands out and climax fight scene is not up to the mark Things to forget: Climax stunt sequence. It is very poor Execution by KSR. It is an unwarranted scene and could have handled it with very simple scenes than making it complex. It lived true to Rajini jokes we have been reading it for years! We have seen similar stunt sequences from Jackie Chan movies, but it looked realistic. But in Lingaa, Poor CG played the spoilt sport in Climax. Age is catching up and it is evident in few scenes (of Younger Rajini). But then, there is no hidden secret and we all know about it. I am sure all fans would like this Style God to continue his acting and treat us by sheer magic presence year after year. Just to set the expectation before you watch the movie: - Not to compare with this earlier blockbusters. His earlier movies like Enthiran / Sivaji which took more than 2+ years to complete. So it is not fair to compare Lingaa (shot in 6 months) with his earlier action past packed movies! - Rajni is back from health issues, so it is NOT right to expect him to run around as he used to be in the past. But he still managed it well - It is easy for a young actor to act as an old man, but it is very challenging for person like Rajini to perform as a youngster. He still young in his heart and tried his best to entertain all his fans through comedy, romance and action sequences I watched movie with my entire family and they (my father in particular) enjoyed it to the core. Looking forward to watch it again. Lingaa: It is Rajinis magic all the way. Watch it for Raja Lingeswaran ! - See you soon
