Linked In Devotion Day 15: Power beyond limitations and small expectations Ephesians 3:20-21: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or imagine according to His power that’s at work in us. Read the above verse again and let that truth sink deeply into your heart. God is greater than your deepest fear, bigger than your most insurmountable obstacle, stronger than your most immobilising pain, more able than your most profound weakness and inability and beyond all expectation and comprehension. Note that Paul doesn’t say that God is able to do more than we can imagine according to His power that will be given to us if we meet certain requirements or that will be made available at some future date. No, it is the power that is at work in those who believe – right here and now – by His Spirit. Our God is limitless, but often, we limit Him by our own small expectations. God’s earth-shaking, universe-creating, miracle-producing power is available to you, right now. He wants to work wonders in and through you. So, will you let Him in? Will you allow His power to move you beyond your comfort zones into places of true purpose with Him? Will you allow His power to transform you and your world? Will you trust Him with the impossible? “Beware in your prayers, above everything else, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do. Expect unexpected things, ‘above all that we ask or think’. Each time, before you Intercede, be quiet first, and worship God in His glory. Think of what He can do, and how He delights to hear the prayers of His redeemed people. Think of your place and privilege in Christ, and expect great things!” -Andrew Murray
