Links, Links, Links This brings us to second page of how your rank is termed. Google is famous for it’s use of ‘Page Ranks’, and many other search engines use similar methods. Simply put the rank of your site is affected by links to and from external website. Each time your website is linked to by an external website your PageRank will increase. The more authoritative the linking site the weight is given to their PageRank. (Time Magazines Lightbox links are worth more than personal blogs). Be wary though of buying ‘links’ for SEO companies though because low-ranking or un-trusted sites (spam sites) will lower your ranking. Seeking out incoming links is a difficult if you want to increase your rank quickly but will occur dynamically if you can plan on producing a steady stream of interesting content that people will share, and link to over time. It is worth making sure that clients, where appropriate, link back to your site. Or that you send a few images from a shoot or project out to interested parties (the crew/assistants/venue) on the condition they link to your site. When it comes to PageRank it is worth taking any advice or information with a pinch of salt. Search engines guard exactly how it is calculated closely and there is allot of guess work involved by SEO experts in how to increase it. Google for instance updates it search algorithm often enough that advice from a few months ago is now out of date. Thanks and Regards, Swathi Business Development Officer SEOpals freelanceguru.org/
