Linn People - I am looking for inspiration and ideas for a project for the town. There has been a call for suggestions and I would like to submit something for our community, even though we may not get chosen. Please help me in brainstorming ideas!! Below I have listed the eight categories the projects can fall under and a few initial, broad ideas I have. I would LOVE your input and ideas. What do you think you would like in your community? What do your think would be used and enjoyed? What NEW ideas do you have? - Architecture: Restore or revitalize and old building - Art: Create sculptures around town (possibly depicting the towns history, or symbolizing our communities core values), murals, create a sidewalk mosiac - Commerce: Create a rural tour package (perhaps the dairies, alpacas, bed and breakfast, and other local business could be involved?), start a farmers market - Cuisine: Build a soda fountain (ice cream) shop - Customs: Add features to our town park (maybe something to compliment our Linn Picnic festivities?), create some other recreational activity (bike or walking path, work out center in an old building or city center) - Geography: Create a flower garden somewhere in town (maybe across from Jacks?) or feature the gazebo and flowers the HS kids put up by the store, install viewing placards around our community that has the best views (the elevator, watertower, best place to see sunset?) - History: Create a time capsule that features our communities history and current state, create displays that feature then and now in Linn and kids could envision the future of Linn, research the lineage of the buildings in Linn and place placards detailing their stories - People: Create the story of our residents and why they like living rural
