Lions Long Walk Home Project Heads up folks! It is not quite - TopicsExpress

Lions Long Walk Home Project Heads up folks! It is not quite time to register yet, but a really thought provoking fun event is coming up which you may want to put in your calendar, particularly if you are a commuter or have a family member who is one. To raise awareness on what it would be like to walk home following a disaster in the Wellington Region, the Kapiti Lions Club supported by other Lions Clubs in the Region have organised a two day event for participants to walk from Wellington to Kapiti on the weekend of 1 & 2 November 2014. This is not a sporting event, rather, a community awareness raising event whereby participants will largely walk together along a pre-determined route. So long as you are reasonably fit and over the age of 17 you meet the criteria to participate. This is just the first year in what we hope will be a bigger and broader event which will also hopefully expand to other routes out of Wellington. Keep an eye out on our facebook page for further details and how to register. We hope to get a good chunk of the WREMO crew out there participating, and we look forward to sweating/gasping along side you - Scott
