Lions TT - Detailed Running Format for Lions Rd As our approved road closure for the NSW side of the Lions Rd (Border to Ripples on the Creek) is from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, we will call across riders who have checked-in and passed scrutineering in groups to avoid any queuing at the Border Running Format: 8:30am - Check-in desk, scrutineering and optional breath testing opens at Rathdowney Hotel. 9:40am - First group of 20 riders called from Rathdowney Hotel to NSW border, followed by next group 20 mins later etc etc 10am - First rider departs NSW Border towards Ripples on the Creek, followed by second rider 30 seconds later etc etc. 3:40pm - At this time, no further riders will be permitted onto the Lions Rd as we must open the road at 4pm. Our suggestion is that if you have just completed the Lions Rd and are at Ripples, and wanting to do it again, you would have to leave Ripples by 2pm sharp at the very latest (it takes 1h 35 mins to get from Ripples back to the NSW Border). At check-in, you will be given a coloured wrist band for the day that will indicate whether you have chosen to ride Saturday, Sunday or both days. You bike will be marked with a number via a chalk pen (washes off without damage), and the running order will be noted at the Border and at Ripples. Please ensure the LTT Official at Ripples has your number before heading off....failure to do so could result in a full scale search. At scrutineering, industry professionals will have a look over your bike for anything that seems dangerous or loose, including head stem bearings. Helmet mounted cameras will be advised to be removed. Sensible motorcycle apparel is expected please. Pillions are welcome. At the NSW Border, I will record your bike number in our system and space riders at 30 second intervals, then at Ripples, your bike number will be checked off in our system. When you arrive at Ripples, you will leave the road closure section and be back on full public road. This will take you to the end of the Lions Rd where you will have two options: 1) Turn Right and ride the 78km back to Rathdowney for another journey on the Lions Rd (add an extra 8km if you want to stop in at Woodenbong), or 2) Turn left and ride into Kyogle for the Motorcycle Festival (25km), or 3) Turn left and ride to Casino via Kyogle for the Sprint (58km) On Saturday, be sure to be back in Kyogle for an awesome display of power between 3pm and 4pm......approximately 2300hp in a live demonstration
