Lions tend to hunt mostly by night or in the early morning, and for much of the rest of the time are the embodiment of lassitude. However, being opportunists theyll hunt whenever the chance arises. The animals they hunt are some of the fastest on the planet. A wildebeest can achieve a top speed of somewhere around 80 kph and maintain it effortlessly and even a humble wart hog can manage almost 50kph. The Wildebeest, have so much confidence in their speed, most of the time they dont even bother to run away at full speed, which must be galling to say the least. Consequently lions have developed two main hunting methods. The first is a version of slow footsteps, in which the lion stalks from cover to cover with a final burst of speed at the end. (If spotted the lion will sit up and stare nonchalantly into the distance.) The second method is to find a bush close to something your prey needs - usually water - climb in and wait. This has the great advantage that the lion can catch up on sleep whilst technically out hunting. See now, this particular situation we are talking about is,a lion, who does this sounds like? does it sound familiar? Who else, stalks from cover to cover with a final burst of speed at the end. And if hes spotted, he go off into the distance, waiting for another convenient time to strike again. Or he finds a convenient spot close to something, a resource that we as imperfect humans need in many cases that will be happiness. And sadly to say, many of us, find temporarily happiness in this slowly, dying, and wicked world. This has the great advantage that the devil can catch up on his prey while they are sleeping, blind to the fact that hes out hunting human. (2 Corinthians 4:4.) So now that we know, because of Gods Word, the devil is out hunting Gods people, try to separate us and devour us like a roaring lion. (1Peter 5:8.) This in itself, should motivate us to stay awake, and warn others, and make the maneuvers we need to stay out of Satans traps.
