Lisa asked,I was approved this week for revision surgery from VSG to RNY. I was sleeved 4.5 yrs ago. It seems like everyone I know that has had RNY is currently experiencing or has had complications (bad ones) from the RNY....like endoscopy to fix multiple major internal problems....ulcers, adhesions, structures, chronic pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. I have had 8 of my friends that have had this tell me DONT DO IT!!! Yikes!!! Quite frankly Im so confused and scared at this point that Im ready to forget I even considered this. I went for a consultation because of a hiatal hernial, 25# weight gain and terrible GERD. The GERD is pretty well controlled with several RX meds and its not hindering my life too much. Im afraid if I attempt to fix one problem with another surgery, Im opening up a completely new can of worms. Im totally stressed out over the decision and I feel like the only decision Im coming to is not to decide lol. Anyone have words of wisdom?
