The condition of the course and especially the greens are the main topic of conversation as few can recall them ever being this good for the time of year. This is testament to the hard work done by our greens committee, our greens staff and of course the good weather this year. All in all it is great to be able to enjoy the super conditions of our course at this moment in time. Sean Daly (14), fresh from his appointment as Vice Captain took the early spoils this week with a ridiculously good score of 30 points. Whilst we taught Alf Barden had a great score last week with 29 points, Sean proved that his new role fits well going one better this week. Sean had a meagre 4 pars for the 11 holes but when you can birdie the 1st, 8th, and 9th who needs pars!!! Needless to say his score was good enough to claim the first prize and ironically he happened to actually sponsor this competition so the prize will be handed out to be handed back to him!! Brian Ronayne (20) has been showing of late that his new purchase of irons will reap rewards and this week they duly did. Brian had a marvellous 5 pars and a birdie on the 8th to record a very impressive 28 points and claim possession of 2nd place. Seamus Beecher (17) made up the final placing on the leader board with a fine 27 points winning on the last 6. Seamus rattled in 4 pars and fine birdie at the 9th. On Sunday morning Seamus Beecher (17) continued where he left off during the week as he put together another sterling round of golf. He managed to amass a great tally of 8 pars for a winning score of 28 points. Sean Buckley (12) went around in just two over par for 27 points with birdies at the 2nd and 11th to claim second spot with Billy Ormonde (21) claiming third place with 26 points in a typical steady round from Billy. Parent EGM and AGM Lismore Golf Club will hold an EGM on Wednesday 20th November at 7.45 in the clubhouse. This will be followed by the AGM at 8.00 pm of the Parent Club. Outgoing President Mr. Dermot O’Leary will preside over the events from the year before incoming President Tim O’Leary and other officers will be elected for 2014. All members where possible are asked to attend. Table Quiz Due to the unparalleled success of our last Table Quiz, the organising committee in their wisdom have organised another for Friday 6th of December. Keep this date free in your diary as this is sure to be a great night in the clubhouse.
