Draw will be made at 3.30 for partners Busy Schedule ahead for August August is sure to be a busy month in Lismore with some mouth watering events taking place. Next weekend we have an 18 Hole Singles Stroke competition sponsored by Cllr. James Tobin which is sure to be a great event. This is a Golfer of the Year Competition so be sure to get and compete and get some valuable points in your quest for top Golfer of 2013. This is closely followed by the prestigious Junior, Intermediate and Minor Scratch Cups. These will take place on the Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of August. The scratch cups are renowned throughout the country as one of the greatest accolades a club golfer can strive to win so be sure to have your game in fine shape for that weekend. After the stresses and strains of the Scratch cups we have an Open Fourball on the 17th & 18th which is sure to be an enjoyable weekend of golf. Playing in the fourball format is a great social yet highly competitive days golf so be sure to pencil in a partner for that weekend as it is one not to be missed. To complete a real competitive 4 weeks golf we have the Presidents Prize for 2013 which will be held on the 23rd, 24th, & 25th of August. Be sure to earmark a time that weekend in Dermot’s prize with a chance for all to compete in our second big major of the year. Junior Golf It is that time of year again boys and girls as Junior golf takes place every Tuesday morning, sign in at 10 am. Open Qualifier – Kellehers Supervalu Cappoquin Our Open Qualifier kindly sponsored by Kellehers Supervalu continues every Thursday until early September so be sure to get out and compete in this very popular competition. Maurice has been a fantastic supporter of Lismore Golf Club for many a year, from playing to sponsoring so please repay Maurice’s generosity when at all possible. Outside of the majors, this competition ranks very highly indeed and is certainly one to have on your CV. We expect to see you out on the fairways competing in earnest to claim a spot in the final to be held on September 14th. Whilst this competition will be predominately held each Thursday, there will be a few weekend opportunities also so please keep an eye on the notice boards closer to the time. Tuesday Bacon Our Tuesday Bacon continues each week with good numbers turning out to participate in our fun yet very competitive 3 ball competition. This competition is a great way for new members to get to know other members, learn a few tips from your playing partners, have a bit of fun and if you bring home the bacon all the better. So come along on Tuesday at 6.00 sharp to get your golf swing in gear for the rest of the summer season. Please ring ahead to get in the draw if running late. Club Mixed This will continue on every Friday from now starting @ 6.30pm. Its fun Golf, with serious prizes, with tea and cake after the game and an ideal place to be to get to know people at the club.
