Mr Narayanaswami : The IIT M alumnus is someone who needs no introduction.This 45 year old anti-corruption crusader holds his B-Tech degree in computer science and engineering and topped civil service in 1991. He who came from a middle class family believed that he had a moral obligation to give something in return for the lakhs of rupees the government spent on him as an IIT student. He had the intelligence and conviction to realize that this money came also from the poorest of the poor – who pay up the excise duty on textiles when they buy cloth, who pay up customs, excise and sales tax on diesel when they travel in a bus, and in numerous other ways indirectly pay the government. So he decided to join IAS hoping he could do something for the people of this country. Narayanaswamy did never look at IAS as a black money spinner as his later life bears testimony to this fact. N.R.Narayan Murthy: The founder of the IT giant ,Infosys ,Mr Murthy started Infosys in 1981,served as it’s CEO from 1981-2002 and was it’s chairman from 2002-2011.In 2012,he was appointed it’s chairman emeritus .But recently on 1 june 2013,he made a comeback as it’s chairman when the comapny is having it’s tough time.He did his M-Tech in electrical engineering from IIT kanpur in 1969.He cleared the IIT entrance exam but couldn’t join it due to financial issues . He has his B-tech degree in 1967 from National Institute of Engineering which was then affliated to University of Mysore. Nandan Nilekani: He is the co-founder of Infosys.The IIT B 1978 batch alumnus holds his B-Tech in Electrical Engineering. He was the CEO of Infosys from 2002-2007.He is currently serving as the chairperson of unique Identification of India which he took in 2009 on the invitation of the Prime Minister. Jairam Ramesh: Known to be the only honest face in the entire Congress Party,the former environmental minister is a 1975 batch IIT B alumnus from mechanical engineering.From 1977-1978 he studied economics engineering and Management at Massachussets Institute of Technology.He is the founding member of the prestigious Indian School Of Business,Hyderabad Rahul Ram: He did his M-tech in Mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur.The Bass gutarist of India’s one of the most famous band the Indian Ocean whose soothing music gives so much pleasure to the ears, is also a music composer and social activist.He played an active role during Narmada Bachao Andalon( 1990-1995).The band has dedicated a famous beautiful song ” Maa Rewa ” to the piousness of the river Narmada. Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal: The Founders of Flipkart ,India’s leading e-commerce company with head quater in Banglore are IIT D 2005 batch alumni who worked together at Amazon in 2006 before founding their own company in 2007.They started with initial investment of just Rs 4 lakhs and it was limited to sales of online books only, now the site generates a revenue of around Rs 500 crore every year selling varieties of goods ranging from electronics gadgets , computer accesories , clothes fashionable garments ,sportwears and much more on greater discount even upto 50-70% also. It is among the top 20 websites in India with record 1 millions user base in India alone. The company generates Rs 1.5 crore every day.
