Listen up LOS ANGELES drivers! Apparently many of us have assumed that if the tires on your car are not in the red you are safe. It is actually up to the PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER to determine if they WANT to give you a ticket if ANY PORTION of your car is in the red. Even a small fraction of your bumper, according to city parking codes. I just had a long conversation with a parking enforcer....oh, and a $68 ticket. And after 6 years of parking in the exact same place during the day...even if it is MY driveway. Thank heavens all the people who have slept over at my house and parked there, never got a ticket...whew. That would have cut into the money I paid them that night.
