Listen up, Selma friends. If I do not speak up for you and tell it exactly the way it is, who else is going to speak up for you? I will go on record as saying our city officials or whoever was responsible for putting that three way STOP sign right in the middle of that sharp curve on Hooper Drive is an absolute IDIOT. There is no doubt in my mind there will be a very serious accident there. It is a very cruel thing to say, but I am hopeful the accident will involve a family member of the idiot responsible for putting it there and not mine. I went through there today and cars were getting off in the ditch trying to stop. Not because they were surprised by the newly installed sign but because they were trying to stop while negotiating a curve. Any fool knows vehicles do not stop very well, especially with antilock brakes, when the vehicle is already off balance in a curve. Frankly I do not believe I have ever seen a stop sign in the middle of a curve in my entire life. Have you? My next question is why is it even there? When coming out of Mallory Drive if one goes right the on coming traffic is of absolutely no concern. If they intend to turn left then they do what the whole world does. That is yield to on coming traffic. This is my public appeal to ask Mayor Evans, and/or the person who came up with this idiotic idea to remove that serious safety hazard immediately. The safety of our citizens depend on it! What do you think about it?
