Listening and complying in high distractions might be the litmus - TopicsExpress

Listening and complying in high distractions might be the litmus test of having a dog that you like as well as love. Teddy is a very anxious dog and wants nothing more than to run to the house in this clip. But he complies with my commands which is huge for him. Having skills to cope with that anxiety so that hes not overwhelmed and in Teddys case act out with aggression at house guests and skateboards, creates a new lease on life for him and his owner. He has learned to trust in his handler with the help of a whole lot of new impulse control and these will be the essence of his continued success. He might not ever be totally relaxed in loud places -- like my less than idyllic front yard ;-) -- but he can be relaxed in his home and accept guests calmly and go for walks without lashing out at the sound and sight of skateboards and bicycles. #chihuahua #longhairedchihuahua #dogsofinstagram #offleashdogtraining #remotecollardogtraining #ecollardogtraining #sanjosedogtraining #sanfranciscobayareadogtraining #oliverstravelsdogtraining
