Listening comedy series I love comedy series. I watched many such series on TV, felt sorry when they ended and could hardly wait for another one to start. I love the characters, their acting, the scenes, the jokes and the dialogues are so well written so that they look very realistic. For me, comedy series are a permanent source of good mood, they energize me, in other words, they make me feel better. Last night, I didn’t enjoy them so much. Let me explain what happened. I went to sleep but I left the TV on and a comedy series just started. It was a series that I regularly watch lately and I enjoy it very much. I was too tired to open my eyes and watch the episode, so I tried to listen to the dialogues, which I usually love. Guess what. Not only that the dialogues didn’t make me laugh but they seemed not interesting at all, and sometimes they were quite stupid. And what bothered me most was the audience laughter… I usually don’t hear them. Now, I heard everything and I didn’t like it. So, I found out that a comedy series is not a radio play. A comedy series listened on radio (like I did) is just like a dish eaten without seeing or smelling it. Without seeing or smelling, even the most aromatic strawberry will taste like plastic. My conclusion is if I want to enjoy a comedy series, I must do it with all the senses present. Otherwise, it has no taste.
