Listening to Mr. Rattigan this morning, I could not help but get the impression that the government of Jamaica does not want to solve the crime problem, because they want only members within the ranks of the JCF to be considered for the position. In other words, they want more of the same and Mr. Rattigan was way too an impressive candidate to be considered for the position of Commissioner. Some relevant questions are: 1. Why did the government of Jamaica, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advertise the position internationally, if they wanted only applicants from within the ranks of the JCF? 2. We should ask the Police Services Commission to publish the resumes / Curriculum Vitae of the shortlisted candidates so they can be publicly scrutinize and compared to that of Mr. Rattigan.
