Listening to liberal Jon Stewarts segment on Ferguson (in which he eviscerates conservatives and Fox for their take on it), I was hit by an epiphany. To underline his point about racism in America (which conservatives have no **** clue about), he tells a story of racism occurring in New York City, a liberal bastion. Maybe the reason conservatives are so convinced that racism barely exists is because it doesnt... in rural, conservative America. Maybe it mostly exists in liberal cities. Having heard rap lyrics (black racism against both blacks and other races) and the racism of non-black/non-whites towards blacks and Desis, all in urban settings, suddenly the world makes a lot more sense. Much disagreement in the world is sincere, rather than based in malice. Much of disagreement comes from either a difference in worldview or a difference in experience. Worldview differences certainly are in play here, but Im guessing experience is a big creator of disagreement as well. Am I close to the truth or way off base?
