Literacy Training Support Consultant World Vision International in Georgia is announcing an opening for the position of Literacy Training Support Consultant. It is an international relief, development and advocacy NGO dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision opened its office in Tbilisi in 1994 in response to the countrys dire need for economic assistance and intervention in the lives of Georgias poor and vulnerable. REAL program presents a strategic opportunity for the World Visions (WV) Middle East and Eastern European (MEER) region to improve its impact on child wellbeing through an action learning and evidence building approach to education. The project is focused on developing life-skills methodology, aligned to the principles of the WV Positive Adolescent Development Project Model. This work is based on a partnership between UNICEF and WVG (based on its previous experience) to develop a new project around supporting highly vulnerable children and youth in Georgia, with a focus on children living and/ or working on the street, as per the above outline. Day care caregivers and teachers had been trained in literacy teaching skills. On first stages of literacy teaching of children support and supervision is needed to ensure desired quality of teaching process. Purpose of the position: Support caregivers of day-care centres in training of literacy, in developing individual development plans of children and monitoring of literacy training activities. Major responsibilities: 1. Support caregivers and participate in developing individual development plans of children. 2. Support caregivers in delivering literacy training of children. 3. Provide consultancy of literacy teaching for new caregiver if needed. 4. Monitor activities related to teaching of literacy. 5. Monitor implementation of individual development plans. Outcomes required: 1. Need of literacy teaching for the children in day care center is assessed. 2. Detailed plan of literacy training for the children day care center beneficiary is reflected in individual development plan. 3. Reports of monitoring process are delivered to project manager. Required qualifications: 1. Masters Academic degree in psychology or neuropsychology; 2. Minimum of 2 years direct work experience with children and their families; 3. Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills; 4. Good report writing skills; 5. Analytical aptitude and attention to details; 6. Excellent written and presentation skills in Georgian; 7. Must have computer aptitude (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and word processing skills; 8. Self-disciplined with good time management skills.
