Little Jimmie Dickens died today at age 94. As an avid Opry listener almost every Saturday night via 650 AM WSM, Nashville, on the Internet, I did hear his last performance live a week ago Saturday night. He has recently been doing the opening segment every week, and always lead out with several old jokes before he sang. I recall that announcer Mike Terry commented how Jimmy was the only singer on the Opry stage who got a standing O every single time, as it was happened again for his last gig ever. As he left the stage for the last time Mike said, Theyre all on the their feet in the Opryhouse, to all of us out there in the radio audience listening to the rousing ovation. youtu.be/YCUBIU3kZ9I
