Little Paisley is sleeping soundly on her oxycontin now, but she had a rough afternoon. Because she does not have a spleen, she is unable to fight off infection, and does not have a typical immune system. She is normally on an antibiotic, which she takes twice a day, and will for the rest of her life... unfortunately, post heart surgery, she has been off of that antibiotic for a couple days, and she has developed a urinary tract infection, so she had to be cathed to get a good urine sample and she is miserable. She is back on the antibiotics, and she will likely get an extra dose over the next few days... poor baby! Her oxygen is still all over the place, so she still has her nasal cannula. But on the bright side, her chest X-rays this afternoon came back clear! These pictures are from this afternoon after her bath, and some m&ms, which made her smile...
