Little bit on the Mazda exhaust today which turned out simpler than expected :-) Rest of day spent on the Austin, carefully measurement for subframe fixing holes, mazes some temporary bolts from 8mm studding, bolted it on. Will need some under chassis cutting away to let it sit at the right height but that can wait. Looked hard at gearbox pan, tailshaft height and chassis k member. Decided to cut sidewalls of k member and replace the missing steel with external plating. Gearbox tailshaft housing swapped for a more compact unit (came as a spare with a tailshaft I bought for a different gearbox) and lowered it all back in. Some minor amendment will be needed to stop rattling and to get the engine level once ride height has been finalised. Found a pair of tyres that will do for rolling around on, and the steering will fit neatly.
