Little did I know when I used the expression “Beware Russian - TopicsExpress

Little did I know when I used the expression “Beware Russian Bear’s Czarist-dream of putting paw in Mid-East,” that the word, paw would crop up in BBC News a few days later. It seems that Chinese officials confiscated 213 bear paws hidden inside the tires of a vehicle crossing the border from Russia. Not only that, but two Russians were detained in border town Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia, according to the BBC. As it turns out, Manzhouli is a very important town in my historical novel, “Klara’s Journey (Marion Street Press), a story of betrayal, high drama and love. Klara has to get past a border check point and guard house, the latter full of bullet holes. Will she make it?
