Little known facts about Looking Glass Staff. This week we feature the seriously serious, Op Das! Op is a painter. And a darn good one. Oil is his medium, and his inspiration (often) is love. If you want to know Op, get to know his paintings. His essence is poured into them. Interestingly, Op says even more than being a painter, he is a student of technique and knowledge. The dude is introspective people! It may come as a surprise that Op was born and raised in Slum Klong Toey, Bangkok, Thailand. He tells us, “It was fortunate for me and my three sisters that my step father, Ken, fell in love with my mother, Sunee, and adopted all of us. We flew to the Unites States in April of 1988, almost missing our plane (we got one just as the door was closing), because Thai customs were questioning the authenticity of their marriage. I was ten years old. My parents are still in love, and living happily in Hua Hin, Thailand.” Op also knows a great way of connecting to himself and others is with food.
