Little update of some minor occurences lately: Just want to let my FIC (Family In Christ) know that God gave me strength to quit smoking cold turkey (two weeks today) and then I was graced with the diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes yesterday. I fear nothing with God on my side. I view this as a point of maturing that is needed and not as a crutch. Time to get right and allow God to restore this holy temple. I was also talked to about several job openings at work but kindly declined them thus negating any more talks about a departmental shift. While I was honored to be considered for these positions, the timing was off. The book of James outlines that God doesnt tempt us, but allows trials to happen as a means of growing us. We should consider these moments of joyous celebration to be ways of maturing us for future challenges. Without me going through the trial of nicotine withdrawal, I may not have been prepared to deal with such a massive diet change. Im not sure. What I am sure of is that our God has a plan and Ill do my best to adhere to that plan, while at the same time listening for when Im veering from the plan. Aside from God dealing with me in a loving way, he gave me an amazing wife. Kari put up with three days of just absolute bullying from me because I wanted a cigarette. She was a trooper that Im not sure if anyone else couldve handled it, my own parents included. Thanks Kitten! Trust God in ALL things. Three-Five-Six, right?
