Live God-fearing lives respectful of authority (1Pe 2:17). Love, honor and respect ought to characterize the Christian life. We do this For the Lords sake. (V13). Christians are to live according to the law as far as conscience will allow. If mans law contradicts Gods law than Christians must obey God first (Acts 5:29). But as far as possible Christians are obligated to be lawful. Our conduct should point men to God. Even those hostile to Christianity may be won over (Mat 5:16). Fear God and respect the king.
