Live in the world’s first 3D-printed villa! Several houses made using #3D printing technology have recently made their debut in #Suzhou City, east China’s Jiangsu Province. They are the first 3D printed #villas ever to be built and the tallest 3D printed buildings in the world so far. Among the houses, one is an 1100-meter-square villa and another a 6-story residential building. The biggest advantage of 3D printing technology, according to experts, is that its both environmentally-friendly and cost-effective. What’s more special about the houses is that the ‘ink’ they used is a mixture of recycled construction waste and tailings. They were mixed with cement to construct the walls, layer by layer. Zheng Jian, an advanced engineer of the program said that compared to traditional buildings, it saves 30 per cent of all costs and nearly 50 per cent of labor costs. The incredible engineering was initiated by Yingchuang high-tech enterprise in Shanghai. According to the company, by using 3D technology, one storey can be made within a day, and the decoration work of a villa will take only one month.
