Live on the Patio Saturday 7/20/2013 - Girls in the Neighborhood from 7:00-9:00pm G.I.N. ( Girls in the Neighborhood) - Beginning at age 12, drummer and percussionist extraordinaire , Shannon Spencer, has years of experience and is accomplished in all styles ranging from classic rock, rock-a-billy, 50’s-60’s old rock n’ roll, jazz, folk, blues, country/country-rock, and big band sound. Shannon—always in demand- plays in multiple groups in any given month. Her band work includes, but not limited to: Coyote Poets of the Universe; Rhythm All Stars; Roundhouse; Roots & Rhythm; Two Bips & a Bop; Standard Issue; Nuthatches; Dr. Hickie & the Makeouts; Moving Targets; Gang Forward; Back Alley Blues Band; Sam Bivens’ Big Band; Randall Dubis; Blue Roux; Mojo Gaea; Jess Redmond Band; Roger “Hurricane” Wilson; Clam Daddys; Stone Soup; Politely Rude; Downtown Girls; Uptown Girls; and of course, “G.I.N.”-Girls in the Neighborhood. Very large repertoire and musical styles with cover songs by artists that include The Eagles; Jimmy Buffet; Fleetwood Mac; Eric Clapton, Buffalo Springfield; John Stewart, Peter Rowan, Bonnie Raitt, Suzy Boggus….to name a few. The country genre includes Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt, and Patsy Cline. “L’R” has a bluegrass picking style on that 45 year old Martin guitar or an acoustic rock sound on that 12 year old Taylor. For the old rock and roll numbers….well…out comes the PRS electric. Then, there is still the harmonica and banjo to be brought out on some selections. Before “settling down”, “L’R” was “on the road” for 7 years playing venues in 11 states. L’R is lead vocalist Singer-songwriter, Pam Osburrn, is a multi-talented performer. Accomplished bass player, Pam also plays electric lead guitar as well as picking the banjo on country-bluegrass numbers. Pam is a creative and clever songwriter. She has her own CD titled “Tough Luck”. Pam has played in numerous bands in the Denver area including Country Beats; Crescent Moon; Pot Luck; Colorado Sweethearts; Downtown Girls; a “family band of Osburns” (showing off the whole musical family). She plays with the “Uptown Girls” as well as “G.I.N.”- Girls in the Neighborhood.
