Liverpool Comedy Festival 2014 shaping up to be a real laugh As the clock counts down towards the launch of this year’s Liverpool Comedy Festival, one of the festival’s big-name acts has already sold out. Feminist Bridget Christie’s show A Bic For Her at Unity Theatre on September 25 is completely sold out with would-be show goers being asked to put their names on a waiting list. Her show was pitched as being one to attend if you’d enjoy a 43-year-old woman shouting about gender inequality, in a Gloucester accent, for nearly two hours. Strong ticket sales for a Good Person? by Liverpool’s own Ginger King of Comedy Paul Smith has led to an extra show being scheduled at the Hot Water Comedy Club on September 24. In the words of artistic director Sam Avery, it’s all good on the road to the Liverpool Comedy Festival’s September 23 launch. There’s good news too for those who have booked to attend AMERICAN: The Bill Hicks Story at Odeon on September 30. The second director, Paul Thomas, has also made himself available to come along to the Q and A session with the audience after the film … originally it was only director Matt Harlock but it’s great now Paul will be there [...] liverpoolinnews/liverpool-comedy-festival-2014-shaping-up-to-be-a-real-laugh/
