Liverpool and Manchester United stalwarts, Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand, are to be honoured with testimonials by the respective clubs and both matches will feature on the Setanta Sports pack. Gerrard’s testimonial will take place at Anfield on August 3 when Olympiacos will be the visitors as the Reds honour their club captain. Sevilla, meanwhile, will visit Old Trafford on August 9 to mark Ferdinand’s 12 years at the club with double Olympic champion Usain Bolt set to make his Manchester United debut. The match will be United’s final warm-up game before the season’s curtain raiser, the FA Community Shield against Wigan at Wembley. There is more good news for Liverpool fans as Setanta has secured the rights to the pre-season friendly against Preston on Saturday, July 13. The match will kick-off at 3pm and will be live on Setanta Ireland channel. The new channels launch on Sky on August 1st.
