Liverpool complete fifth summer signing Liverpool have completed their fifth summer signing after securing defender Aly Cissokho, according to the Mirror. The defender has signed a season-long loan from Valencia and has spent all day training with the Anfield squad ahead of their match against Aston Villa on Saturday. He has been brought in to provide some competition for Jose Enrique at left-back and if he performs well this season there is the opportunity for a £4million deal next year. Big things The 25-year-old has been interviewed by L iverpoolFC and this is what he had to say: “I’m very happy to be here. I think we have a great team and great fans and together we can achieve big things. “It’s going to be a great experience to be able to rub shoulders with the club’s top-quality players. I have experience in the game, but coming here there will still be lots of things to learn and discover as I work with everyone every day. “I can learn from my new manager, get to know the new style of play here, familiarise myself with different opposition teams and learn the language. It’s going to be a great experience for me, and of course playing for the club for the first time is something I’m excited about.” The new signing is not likely to set the Premier League on fire but Enrique will struggle to fight off this new talent in the squad. Valencia The French player has played 25 times for Valencia since joining in 2012, scoring 2 goals.
