Liverpool transfer target Henrikh Mkhitaryan has failed to report - TopicsExpress

Liverpool transfer target Henrikh Mkhitaryan has failed to report for training with Shakhtar Donetsk, according to the club. The 24-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with Metro reporting that the player is close to a £25million switch. However, a deal is yet to be agreed, and the Ukranian giants are far from happy that one of their prized assets has gone AWOL. Indeed, general manager Sergey Palkin has called the player’s behaviour into question, and insists that a fine will be coming the Armenian international’s way. “Mkhitaryan has not appeared for training. We do not know where he is or if he will arrive in the near future,” said Palkin in a statement. “We have not heard that Mkhitaryan wants to leave. All questions about his behaviour need to be addressed to him. He will be fined for this.” Metro claims Palkin also said that Liverpool were yet to make a bid for the player, although the mystery disappearance would appear to be an indication that Mkhitaryan is looking to force through a move. He wrote on his official Facebook page earlier in the week that he’s unsure what his future holds, but Brendan Rodgers will have to spend big to bring the former Metalurh Donetsk star to Merseyside.
