The newspaper claims that boss Brendan Rodgers made a request to the Spaniard to join up with the Reds squad to prove his fitness. Valdes, however, was uninterested, seeing the offer as more of a trial, something he is reluctant to do. That complication has reportedly ended Liverpools bid to sign the former Barcelona goalkeeper, who is a free agent this summer. Interestingly, the Peoples claim comes just two days after Spanish publication Marca suggested that the 32-year-old is only a medical away from moving to Merseyside.
