Living Free Every Day® Todays Scripture Then let us no more criticize and blame and pass judgment on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle or a hindrance in the way of a brother. - Romans 14:13 AMP Thoughts for Today We supposed to encourage one another. And yet so often, we judge. We blame. We criticize. We arent going to agree with one another about everything. (In fact, maybe we wont agree about much!) We are all going to be offended; and offend others. We are all going to make mistakes. Thats a given. But we have a choice about how we will respond to the things we dont like or agree with in others. We can judge. We can criticize. We can blame. Or . . . we can respect their opinions. We can try to see things from their perspective. We can overlook and forgive offenses. When they have erred, we can go to them in love and help them get back on track. They dont see a picture of Christs love . . . and so they are repelled, rather than attracted. Consider this Are you standing in judgment? Is there someone you have been criticizing and blaming? Ask God to show you any judgmental attitudes you are harboring. And then, repent. And show love. Find ways to encourage and help the one you have been judging. Arent you glad Jesus loves you even when you are at your worst? Are you willing to do the same for others? Prayer Father, I know sometimes I am quick to judge - and criticize. Please forgive me. Help me to see others the way you do and to respond to them in your love. In Jesus name These thoughts were drawn from Understanding Depression: Overcoming Despair through Christ by Donald G.
