Living Water plans free Neighborhood Party An afternoon of food, fun and fellowship is in store when Living Water Christian Church Assembly of God hosts its first-ever Neighborhood Party 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the church, 911 Shakopee Ave. E. The event is designed as a farewell to summer and has a back-to-school emphasis. All of the prizes awarded for those who play the carnival games will be school items such as pens, paper, pencils and erasers. Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will also be served. Other activities include a puppet show, raffles and giveaways. The event is entirely free. No RSVP needed. Come as you are. The band 2 Timothy and friends will provide music throughout the afternoon. The Twin Cities-based Christian Group has opened for a number of popular youth-oriented bands, including 18:3 and Project 86. The band members are Andrew D. Abbott, Joel Pokorny and Clyde Harvey Jr. Harvey attends Living Water. The community is also invited to come out for the morning services at the church, including Sunday School for all ages at 9 a.m. and the morning worship service at 10 a.m. The church is located at the corner of Shakopee Ave. E. and Dakota, west of Marschall on Shakopee Ave. Info: facebook/LivingWaterMN or (952) 445-6148.
