Living in a rural community sometimes means dealing with spring - TopicsExpress

Living in a rural community sometimes means dealing with spring life and death. A pregnant dairy cow( besides being sacred, Hindus please look away) is worth about 3,000 to a farmer. When it gets stuck in a drainage ditch and dies it is a great loss, most animals will be tossed in a offal pit, where this one is. Because of cold temperatures and being able to get to the animal in a matter of hours we were able to quarter and harvest the meat( around 120kgs) so that animal did not go to waste. The Slammer is a great time saver when it comes to chopping thru bone, leg and shoulder joints. It has earned a permanent place on the back of the Quad bike. Rest in peace proud cow, I speak your name and thank you for your life!
