Living in the land down under… I was watching a documentary on - TopicsExpress

Living in the land down under… I was watching a documentary on the Philippines on Al Jazeera. Wow. A strong reminder of how tough most people have it. They were interviewing two mothers who work all day in absolute squalor for $2 a day! $2 a day! And they’re mothers with a family to support! For 4 hours of work washing dishes and delivering pizzas I get $80 – that’s more than these women could ever hope to earn in a month! And I get that in 4 hours! 4 hours! When I drive I can listen to The Bible on audio and when I’m in the restaurant I wash dishes - and I actually like washing dishes, seriously, it’s quite therapeutic. My boss asked me if I was “in the zone” as I was washing dishes the other night. I just said: “Yes ma’am, I’m getting my dishwashing therapy.” To this she said: “It’s the simple things in life.” And it is, it really is. Praise God, praise God – I’ve done nothing to deserve the wonderful parents, family and country I have, nothing at all. The average person on this planet has it really, really rough. I dropped my brother off at school this morning and I felt really at peace. I was just driving with the window’s down taking in the summer morning fresh air and looking at all the big, beautiful trees and blue sky… so refreshing. It’s ridiculous, it really is. Over half the world’s populace lives on $2 a day or less and I get to live in Straya Mate Disney Land… so grateful. The media or our culture or the west or whatever it is, satan really, just wants us to want more, more, more, more until we become so consumerist and brainwashed we’re never fulfilled nor happy no matter how much we have – it’s really quite ludicrous. I felt God convicting me, saying something like: “You have it infinitely better than over 90% of the world’s populace, what you should be asking is how you can give back.” It’s true, it’s true. If you live in Strayaville you’ve got it far, far, far better than the VAST majority of the world. Heck, if you even have a pc or a smart phone to read this, you’ve got it far better than most of the world. I am blessed, I am blessed! Thank you God! Thank you! Above all, thank you for your Son and what He did for me on the cross. Anyway, typing this made me think of the classic: Down Under. God bless everyone, read the Holy Bible and have a good day - and enjoy this song. Cheers. https://youtube/watch?v=XfR9iY5y94s
