Living the Truth 1 John 1:6 (ERV) So if we say that we share in life with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars, who don’t follow the truth. Meditation Have you ever experienced “nodder’s syndrome?” Think back to a class in school when you would constantly nod in agreement with what a professor was saying, but actually nothing was going in. In the same way, we can be spiritually delusional. We think we’re with God, but we live however we please. John calls that what it is: a lie. It’s a dangerous one because it separates faith from action, which is spiritual suicide. We need to submit to this acid test--is any part of my life still in darkness? If so, it calls into question my whole loyalty to the truth. Prayer Lord, if I have completely fooled myself, bring a friend into my life to show me the truth. Amen.
