Llandudno & District Darts League. 23.07.2013 ``Let’s Play Darts’’ by Peter Kearney. “Busmen triumphant’’ with one league match to go, congratulations go to both Crosville teams on being crowned league champions in their divisions. In the Nevill sponsored division one this week, newly formed Mountain View Mochdre, are looking favourites to be crowned division one champions after thrashing RAOB B 0 – 9 with a 180 for Kevin Bisp, Pen Arms A still give themselves a slight chance of winning the league after a closely fought 5 -4 win over the Malt Loaf A, assisted by a 180 and a 17 dart leg from Rob Sumbland and a 17 dart leg for Jake Yates, while there was 180s for Neil Hughes and Jamie Jones of the Loaf. While the Malt Loaf B proved too strong for RAOB A winning 6 – 3 and a 180 for Ady Hoyle of the Loaf B. RAOB sponsored division two, Cricket Club A bowled over the Crosville A, 3 -3 after the singles, the cricketers won all three doubles to win the match 3 – 6 and go into second place, but the Crosville will still be crowned league champions. Pen Arms B maintain joint second place after travelling to Pen Golf and coming away 4 - 5 winners after clinching the last two doubles, 17 and 19 dart legs for Iwan Williams of the Pen Golf. In the Links Hotel sponsored division three, Labour club took on the Legion and Labour club go into second place, after a close 5- 4 victory. Links hosted the Neville and had a fright as they went 2 – 4 down, before they rallied together and started the fight back to clinch the match 5 – 4 thanks to a final win from Cliff and John Hayes to give the Links top spot in the league. Anglers benefit from a blank night win and play a crucial final game against the Labour club for runners up place in division three. In the `Club 147’ sponsored division four, it’s all still to be played for, Jacks lead the way even after slipping up against the Bron, who came away 4 – 5 winners, ably assisted by a 180 for league stalwart Eiffion Williams. Kings Arms travelled up the street to the Townhouse and after going 4 – 0 up, they secured the win at 4 – 5 and a 180 for Mike Castro. In the Crosville sponsored division five, Crosville B travelled to the Cross Keys Llandudno, needing to win to be crowned champions; they maintained their 100% winning record with a 3 – 6 victory and the title of division five league champions. Cricket club B hosted Cross Keys P/Side and lost 3 – 6, the Keys Gaz Davies getting a 180. Division One, RAOB B 0- Mountain View 9, Malt Loaf B 6 - RAOB A 3, Penrhyn Arms A 5 - Malt Loaf A 4. Division Two, Pen Golf 4 - Pen Arms B 5, Old Hall 9 - Pen y Bryn B 0, Crosville A 3 – Cricket A 6. Division Three, Labour Club 5 - Legion 4, Links 5 - Neville 4, Anglers 9 – blank 0. Division Four, Pen y Bryn C - Maelgwyn no result card, W/S Jacks 4 – Bron Eryri 5 ,Townhouse 4 - Kings Arms 5. Division Five, Cross Keys Llan 3 - Crosville B 6, Cricket B 3 – Cross Keys P/Side 6, Blank 0 – Pen y Bryn A 9. Next Tuesday the 30th July is the league’s annual general meeting at the Crossville club. All teams wishing to apply for the winter season should return their team application forms and fees on this night.
