Lloyd Wade Kitchens, Jr., M. D. (10/19/46 - 8/23/01) Thirteen years ago. Not just a Fellow, American College of Physicians (ACP), but a Master, ACP. Not just a brother, but Jims and my brother. He silently and stoically lived with Crohns Disease (also our fathers illness) for 35 years. He nicknamed me Dick, from his Dick and Jane first-grade primer just after my birth, and in honor of LWKjr Ive always been proud of that moniker. As a teen, he could go from slopping hogs to playing classical piano pieces impeccably in a manner of minutes. Just a few memories...Every time I play the piano I think of him, and wish I could play as he did. I love and miss you, Lloydie, but Im so glad youre pain-free now.
