Loan Review Consultant - Syracuse, NY Our client is a diversified consulting company that has been providing services to financial institutions for 30+ years. They are a highly sophisticated Credit Department, able to handle all functions from initial borrower due diligence to collateral liquidation, and everything in between. Their goal is to provide these services in a timely and cost effective manner, allowing their clients to tap into resources they would not otherwise be able to employ internally. They are the fastest growing company of its kind in the Northeast and are looking for individuals with banking and accounting experience. Job Responsibilities: • Validate risk ratings assigned by banks/credit unions to commercial loans using firms proprietary Loan Review System and risk rating methodology based on the 5 C’s of Lending (Capacity, Capital, Collateral, Character, and Conditions). • Calculate key ratios such as Debt Service Coverage Ratios (DSCR) and various other liquidity, leverage, and asset management ratios in determining the financial condition of the commercial borrowing entity. • Ensure loans are properly structured and monitored by bank/credit union personnel. • Document the review within firms Loan Review System to ensure accurate data and work papers that ultimately support the risk rating. • Effectively communicate with high level bank/credit union management personnel during completion of assigned responsibilities. Experience: • Commercial lending, credit analysis, and/or portfolio management experience within community banks or credit unions. • Accounting personnel with auditing and/or preparation of financial statement experience also will be considered. • Bachelor’s degree is required. • Computer software experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email is a must. • Must be self sufficient in working with laptops, such as connecting to internet and printers while on the job at a remote site. • Retired banking and accounting personnel who wish to supplement their retirement income are welcome to apply.
