Local FB Friends: For several years, Kempsville Christian Church (the church I serve as Associate Minister) has had in our general budget funds that enable us to provide a needed outreach to the homeless throughout Hampton Roads. We bus them in so they can be with us for our Sunday Worship Services and receive a warm meal. We also provide a shelter program at the church during Thanksgiving week through the general giving of the church and volunteer work with our members. We regularly hear stories of how God and His Church provide a hand-up when needed. Many from the homeless community have come to worship with us, felt the love of Gods people, realized the hope for renewal and need for repentance, been baptized into Christ, enrolled in a class to learn the basics of Christianity, gotten a job or gone back to school, and have come out of homelessness. They are our brothers and sisters in Christ. All of this to say we have one with us that has been attending faithfully for years who found a job last year as a computer tech guy and has saved his money for months. This past week, our team helped him find a one bedroom apartment that he can afford, but he has no furnishings whatsover. If you have an old bed, small couch, dresser, bed sheets, pillows, towels, toiletries, etc. that youre willing to give to him, please see if you can arrange for a truck to bring them to our church trailer this week. The evangelism team will take the furnishings to his new apartment. The team can try and arrange pickups if absolutely necessary, but if theres any way to get someone to bring the items to the church trailer by the garage, it would be greatly appreciated. If you cant help in this way, please continue to pray for him and his pursuit to change the direction of his life for Gods glory. Your love, patience, Sunday tithes/offerings, prayer and selflessness as a church has produced fruit for Gods glory over the years with this specific ministry.
