Though, Aces are reluctant to sell one of their star men of last season, Chiefs still hope that they can lure him away and are said to use Mandla Masango in a player-exchange deal. ● AmaZulu have reportedly opened up negotiations with Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Raymond Monama, who spent the second half of last season on-loan at University of Pretoria. ● Ghanaian defender John Paintsil is training with Chippa United and is set to sign a deal with PSL side. ● Free State Stars confirm Tom Saintfiet as new head coach, with Themba Sithole now in charge of development. ● Former Maritzburg United striker, Orlando Smeekes, is still hopeful of winning another move to a team in the PSL. The 32-year-old was released by the Team of Choice at the end of the 2013/14 season, and is now exploring his options in Mzansi. ● The long-awaited fixture dates for the MTN8 quarterfinals should be released this week, with the first game to be played a month today. Themba Zwane and Musa Nyatamas return will possibly push Mabunda and Kumalo down the pecking order, which is why the club could be looking to negotiate loan deals elsewhere with them. According to sources, Mabunda may end up on the books of Maritzburg United, while Kumalo is being linked with Free State Stars. It has been further revealed that the duo are not part of the team that has reported for pre-season in Polokwane, which adds more fuel to the speculation. ● A big PSL club is set to start contract negotiations with Burkina Faso striker Kho Traore, who arrives in South Africa this week. The player’s representative in South Africa, Kabelo Sibiya, confirms that the player is expected in the country on Friday but points out he is not at liberty to divulge the identity of the club after the signature of the 24-year-old forward. ● Ajax Cape Town have failed in their late bid to lure the NFD top goal scorer for the 2013/14 season, David Zulu, to Roger de Sa’s side at Ikamva. ● Orlando Pirates have given goalkeeper Fatau Dauda an extended rest following his participation in the 2014 World Cup with Ghana. ● Orlando Pirates have signed Tebogo Masaole to strengthen the team’s striking department for the 2014/15 season. The striker played for Santos in the NFD last season. The 24-year-old did well while with the People’s Team in Cape Town much to admiration of his observers from Parktown.
