Local candidates square off tomorrow Central Montana voters are invited to see their candidates in action tomorrow night at the Yogo Inn. Doors to the Sapphire Rooms open at 6 p.m. and the first debate will begin at 6:30 p.m. The first debate will feature the two candidates for House District 29, Bill Harris and Ron Moody. Following them will be Jack Shields and Kelly Mantooth, who are competing for the Justice of the Peace position. The final debate of the night will feature candidates for Fergus County Commissioner District 1, Ross Butcher and Terry Selph. The debates will be moderated by News-Argus Publisher Jacques Rutten, Managing Editor Deb Hill and Staff Writer Charlie Denison. “Local voters have been submitting a lot of questions for the candidates during the past few weeks, and we will try to ask as many of them as we can,” said Rutten. “Our main goal is to help voters make informed decisions when they cast their ballots in the coming weeks.” Absentee ballots were mailed out on Monday and the general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
