Local elections are more democratic having no electoral college involved, yet fewer people vote and as an educator in government I believe it is because we teach one semester of government not civics and never teach state and local government to our youth, if they were educated on how these elections have an even greater impact on their day to day lives and how much more their vote counts then they would be more active citizens in the process and more likely to participate as voters!
