Local nonprofit arts organizations can use a new ADA Accessibility - TopicsExpress

Local nonprofit arts organizations can use a new ADA Accessibility Improvement Grant to help support activities that have potential for significant or long-term impact to serve more people with disabilities. There will be a FREE Accessibility Workshop tomorrow - April 15 - from 6 to 8:30 at A Center for the Arts, 124 W. Lincoln Ave., Fergus Falls. Captioning, Assistive Listening Devices and American Sign Language interpreters can make an arts event come alive for someone who has lost or is losing their hearing. Audio Description does the same for a person who is blind or of low vision. Explore how these services can attract people to enjoy your play, musical, art exhibit or slide show. Learn how to do your own scripted captioning, using your own computer and borrowing free software and a caption display unit from VSA Minnesota.
