Local officers are asking parents to remind their children about the dangers of throwing stones off bridges or other high areas. Recently in Hathersage a group of teenagers are thought to have been involved with throwing stones at people below in a disused quarry. In previous years incidents of this nature have caused damage to vehicles and drivers have been left feeling shaken and facing the cost and inconvenience of repairs. While it may seem like just a bit of fun, throwing stones at vehicles or people may have serious consequences with the dangers of a collision and injury. Not all young people get involved with this type of behaviour, but we ask parents to speak to their youngsters to make sure they understand the dangers.
