Local politics doesn’t stop at the county level. That’s why candidates running for Ferndale City Council will be answering questions at a forum at Ferndale High School on Thursday, Oct. 3. The event, sponsored by the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce and the Ferndale Record, is designed primarily to ensure that local voters can inform themselves about the issues and values of those seeking to fill the three seats on the council, said Chamber director Guy Occhiogrosso. Local politics being what it is, residents don’t usually have that much trouble getting in touch with sitting council members or candidates, Occhiogrosso said. However, this event is a chance to help focus residents on the issues that are most important and hopefully increase local turnout.
